Never got to read the novel, just bits and pieces and several wikis to get the feel for the story. Lots of anatomy issues on the male, but I quite like how the female turned out. If I could go back, design wise, I would have added more vintage sci-fi to the costumes.

I love the colours and the old fashioned illustration feel to this. The combination of all the muted earthy tones and then the luminous milkiness of the woman's skin makes me think of John Bauer's fairytale illustrations and Arthur Rackham's work.

Not familiar with John Bauer's work but I will definitely google him later. Arthur Rackham has always been a favorite of mine, so this is high praise. Undeserving but thank you nonetheless

John Bauer was a Swedish illustrator with a lot of similarities to Rackham in terms of the materials and techniques he used and the subject matter for his illustrations, so if you like Arthur Rackham I think you might like John Bauer too. :)

I like the colours you used on this and the shadows and highlights are really smooth. The armour is really cool.
